Radio Kootwijk was an radiostation build in the early 1920's to create a direct communication link between Holland and its colonies in the Indies. At first it used really long radiowaves and thus needed a lot of power for generating them. Later on shorter waves were used, cutting down on power needs considerably. Most of the building therefore was also for housing the enormous generators. It is an erie view seeying this great architectural building speck in the middle of nowhere [the location was chosen for minimal interference].
